Sustainable, high quality, farm fresh flowers grown and arranged in North Devon
Our story
It all began with Alice’s sister asking her to grow and arrange her wedding flowers. Wild, organic and highly scented seasonal flowers were desired, and that is what the bride received.
Alice fell in love with growing flowers for cutting, having gardened for years and decided to take the plunge in 2023 and share the love by growing flowers to sell locally in North Devon.
We care about the environment and biodiversity. We do not use any chemicals in our flower field and encourage insects and birds of every kind. This results in flowers which are both beautiful and scented, but also sustainable. We do not use peat or animal products either.
All garden waste is returned to the garden and fed back into the earth. At Berry Cross we use regenerative and organic practices to look after the soil, wildlife and environment.
Alice is RHS qualified in Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture through Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and has completed various courses and workshops in floristry including Level 2 Eco-Floristry at Bicton College. Alice is also an active member of Barnstaple Floral Art Club and is available for floral demonstrations.
Picked with care
Because we are a small business we have a select number of flowers and foliage available. We provide flowers in season and only ever use British grown if we buy in flowers. For this reason flowers are only available between 1st April and 30th September. Although, do contact us by email if you have a event outside of these months which you would like us to cater for.
“The scent from my bridal bouquet was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful arrangement for my wedding.”
- G Marshall, 2022 bride
